Helen Flanagan’s Coronation Street return ‘sealed’ after she requested her role back.

Blonde beauty Helen Flanagan is hoping to make a comeback to Corrie’s Weatherfield as Rosie Webster, but it appears soap bosses have delivered a devastating setback.

Helen Flanagan is said to have reached out to Coronation Street bosses about making a comeback to the soap.

The 34-year-old actress has been facing financial difficulties in recent months, confessing that passing up several exciting career opportunities has since caused her regret. She has also been hinting at a return to the cobbles, nearly seven years after stepping away for maternity leave.

Reports now suggest that the Celebs Go Dating star reached out to ITV bosses about a possible comeback as blonde bombshell Rosie Webster. However, it appears a return isn’t looking promising at this time.

Helen first appeared on Corrie as Rosie in 2000. She has taken several breaks from the soap over the years, including one in 2011 when she joined I’m A Celebrity.

Helen made a return to the cobbles in 2017, but her comeback was short-lived as she chose to exit the soap again just a year later. Since then, she’s appeared on several other TV shows, including the South African edition of I’m A Celeb and a lively stint on Celebs Go Dating.

However, speaking to The Sun, a close friend of the actress revealed that Helen feels she’s done with reality TV and now wants to shift her focus back to acting. “She’s had enough of reality shows and is hoping for a steady acting role,” the insider shared.

The source continued: “Helen recently approached a senior Corrie producer to discuss a potential return, but at the moment, her character doesn’t fit into any of the current storylines.”

This comes as Helen recently spoke about her eagerness to return to the soap as soon as possible. “I’d absolutely love to go back to Coronation Street, I really, really would,” she said enthusiastically in an interview with The Sun on Sunday.

She added: “I’d love to see Rosie Webster return as a single mum who’s just left her partner. She’d leave her two kids with Sally and I think she’d make an iconic barmaid at the Rovers Return.”

Meanwhile, Helen’s financial struggles have continued to make headlines, after it emerged she was selling her eight-bedroom mansion, valued at around £1million, following her split from footballer Scott Sinclair. Although she admitted she didn’t want to leave, she explained that looking after the property alone with her three children had become overwhelming.

She shared that she was finding it difficult to manage the Bolton home, noting that her three children — whom she co-parents with Scott — would soon need to find a new place to live. Through tears, she admitted: “It makes me sad that I’m going to be leaving.”

Back in January, Helen revealed to Wirral Magistrates Court that she only has enough funds to cover her tax and VAT obligations, saying: “That’s about it.” She explained: “My main role is being a stay-at-home mum. Their dad works away, and right now, it’s really hard for me to earn an income.”

Despite her challenges, Helen’s love life is thriving. The Corrie actress is now happily dating Robbie Talbot, after the pair connected through the celebrity dating app Raya last year.

However, their relationship hit a bump when Robbie had to move out of Helen’s home, largely due to how her children were adjusting to his presence. Helen explained that her eldest daughter, Matilda, 9, “struggles” with not seeing her dad, Scott, and having Robbie around the house “probably doesn’t help her.”
