Elaine ‘Seals Her Own Doom’ by Insisting on Staying in The Vic — EastEnders Follow-Up

Perhaps it was a mistake to say that.

In tonight’s episode of EastEnders (Thursday, June 26), Elaine Peacock made it clear to Linda that she had no intention of leaving The Vic, even referencing death to emphasize her point.

After Elaine’s awkward moment at Patrick’s party, where she saw Raymond, Bert, and Ernie drinking alcohol, Linda began to question whether the pub still brought her any joy.

When Linda considered selling The Vic, Elaine didn’t hesitate to express her strong feelings about the situation.

Linda Considers Selling The Vic in EastEnders

In last night’s episode of EastEnders (Wednesday, June 25), Elaine Peacock hosted Patrick’s 85th birthday celebration at The Vic.

Denzel showed up and asked Elaine if he and Joel could each have a glass of the alcoholic punch, even pretending that Howie was okay with it.

Elaine reluctantly agreed but didn’t expect the boys to take two whole pitchers of punch home while looking after the kids.

Later, Bert, Ernie, and Raymond drank the punch, which led to Elaine being questioned about whether she should have allowed the boys to take it in the first place.

Linda Carter began to reflect on what truly mattered — the pub or the safety of a child — and realised she no longer found happiness at The Vic.

She and Johnny then confronted Elaine, sharing Linda’s decision to sell the pub and move on. Elaine reacted very badly to the news.

Has Elaine ‘sealed her own fate’ in EastEnders?

In response to Linda, Elaine argued that her wish to sell The Vic was unfair to her. The pub is not just a business — it’s her home and her chance to move forward after George.

She firmly declared: “My fresh start is here and now, and you want me to sell up and run off. Over my dead body.”

But with The Vic entering a new chapter — as Kat Slater is reportedly set to become the pub’s sole owner — what does this mean for Elaine?

It seems that with Kat taking full ownership, Elaine may have to sell her shares after all. And since Elaine is desperate to hold onto the pub for as long as she can, could this storyline lead to her death to allow the sale to go through?

Elaine is set to collapse next week… but will she pull through?
