Danny Dyer has shared that leading Hollywood executives recommended he switch to an American accent if he aimed to succeed as a top-tier movie star.

Danny Dyer was encouraged to drop his Cockney accent to improve his prospects in Hollywood. The former EastEnders actor, 47, was advised to use an American accent even off-camera.
He explained, “Years ago, I went over there trying to break through, but I just didn’t have the patience. I hated having to speak American all the time, which is the norm out there. Everyone actually thought I was Australian.”
“Do I really want to? How badly do you want it? I get that’s where the opportunities are and that’s the goal, but do I want to move out there alone… always speaking American, pretending to be someone I’m not? No way. Do I f*****?”

Danny also abandoned his dreams of making it in Hollywood because he wasn’t willing to relocate and leave Britain behind.
He said: “You need an agent, manager, lawyer… all that. But they wanted me to live there for six months, and I had young kids.”
Although he didn’t make it in Hollywood, Danny has still built up an impressive list of hit films over the years. He’s best known for his roles in The Business, The Football Factory, and Mean Machine.
Earlier this year, he returned to the big screen with Marching Powder. His upcoming film, Three Quick Breaths, features him as a man stuck in an office.
He said: “This guy has the worst day imaginable, and the camera never cuts away from me. When I read it, I thought, this is incredible. They sent it over recently, I watched it, and I’m really proud of it. It’s scheduled to come out next year, and I definitely see it as an achievement.”

Danny found it tough to memorize all the lines because there were so many.
He added, “We filmed it over 10 days in Dublin, and I had to learn 15 pages of script every day.”
“It really wore me down by the end. I was desperate to be done. I didn’t get to see any of Dublin.
“I’d learn my lines—fifteen pages—then go to bed. Wake up, head to the studio, one set, one room, film it, and then wrap.”
