EastEnders actor posts adorable baby photo as he welcomes his second child.

Actor Amar Adatia, known for portraying Jags Panesar in EastEnders from 2019 to 2020, shared an Instagram post announcing the arrival of his second child.

Former EastEnders actor Amar Adatia has welcomed a new addition to his family.

The actor, who portrayed Jags Panesar on the BBC soap for a year before his character was written off, shared the joyful news on Instagram. He gave fans a glimpse of his newborn with an adorable photo showing just part of the baby, including a onesie and a small portion of the baby’s arm.

The onesie featured the name “Arella Adatia” in a swirling black script, seemingly revealing the newborn’s name. “Full Heart,” the proud father wrote, accompanied by a red heart emoji. He also included a star emoji in his caption: “Welcome to the world, Arella Adatia.”

Amar, 39, tends to keep a low profile on social media and hadn’t officially announced that he was expecting another child. He is already a father to a three-year-old, as he and his wife welcomed their first baby in December 2021.

When their first child was born, he shared a photo of the baby holding his finger, with Minnie and Mickey Mouse in the background. “Welcome to the World, Aliana Adatia,” he wrote.

The actor received an outpouring of messages from fans after announcing the arrival of baby number two, with some well-known faces offering their congratulations. Rukki Nahar, who portrayed Jags’ love interest Habiba Ahmed in EastEnders, was among those sending their best wishes.

“Congratulations,” Rukki Nahar posted, adding heart and star emojis. Actress Jess Impiazzi also shared a string of red hearts in her congratulatory message.

One fan exclaimed, “Whatttt I never knew – congrats to you all,” while another called it “beautiful news.” “Such a beautiful name,” commented another follower.

“Wow Amar, so happy for you,” one fan wrote. “OH MY GOD Congratulations,” said another, sending lots of love.

Jags arrived in Albert Square in 2019, alongside his brothers Kheerat (Jaz Deol) and Vinny (Shiv Jalota). However, his time in Walford was brief, as Jags was written out the following year after being sent to jail for an attack on Martin Fowler (James Bye), a crime that one of his brothers had actually committed.

The following year, Jags’ character was killed off-screen by a fellow inmate. It was revealed that he had crossed paths with a gang while in prison, leading to his tragic death.

The actor’s other television credits include Four Hours, Doctors, The Endz, and Black Gold. After leaving EastEnders, he appeared in the film Override and in 2023, he took on a role in the comedy horror The Devil Went Down to Islington.
