Last year, Ken Barlow went through a troubling time when his carer, Cassie Plummer, began secretly drugging him.
Cassie had been lacing Ken’s tea to ensure he stayed reliant on her, securing her position in his home and continuing her employment.
Taking advantage of his vulnerability, she persuaded Ken to fund lavish holidays and used his bank account to treat herself to expensive gifts.
However, her deceit was eventually uncovered when Ken collapsed and had to be rushed to hospital, prompting the Barlow family to uncover the truth.
Cassie tried to make a quick escape from Weatherfield before the authorities could catch up with her — but her getaway didn’t go as planned.
Despite everything Cassie did to Ken, Steve has found himself unable to stay away from her, and he’s now made their relationship officially public.

Now that Cassie and Steve have made their relationship official — and are enjoying their romance under Ken’s roof — fans are convinced that Ken would have something to say about it.
Since his intense drugging storyline, which wrapped earlier this year, Ken has barely made an appearance on screen. Viewers are now growing increasingly curious — and worried — about his whereabouts.
One concerned fan posted on Reddit: “Where’s Ken? He’s never home! There’s only so much time one can spend alone in the library, and no one seems to have noticed he’s missing!”
Another viewer remarked: “It’s amazing that nobody has acknowledged his absence.”
