Coronation Street viewers call on ITVX to fix soap schedule shake-ups as they vent frustration over ‘missing’ episodes

Why should soap viewers be left out?

Coronation Street fans are pleading with ITV to step in as ongoing sporting events continue to disrupt the soap’s regular schedule.

In recent weeks, the usual airing times have been all over the place, leaving viewers frustrated.

Now, fed-up fans are calling on the network to find a fix and bring an end to the delays.

Coronation Street schedule in turmoil

Coronation Street normally runs hour‑long episodes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

But the past couple of weeks have seen that routine uprooted by ITV’s packed summer‑of‑sport lineup.

The last episode aired on Wednesday, 2 July, and the next one won’t land until Thursday, 10 July, in a later 9 p.m.–10 p.m. slot.

That eight‑day gap has left fans fuming over missing their regular Corrie fix.

For now, coverage of the UEFA Women’s Euros is occupying ITV’s main channel and bumping the soap from its usual time.

Coronation Street fans urge ITVX to upload ‘missing’ episodes amid schedule shake-up

As Coronation Street episodes are typically uploaded to ITVX and YouTube on the same day they air on ITV’s main channel, fans are now pleading with ITV to keep releasing new episodes on these platforms whenever sports events preempt the soap.

This would allow viewers to stick to their usual routine and avoid feeling like they’re missing out.

One Reddit user shared: “I don’t understand — if they can release episodes on the app before they’re shown on TV, why not do the same on days when they’re not airing live? Hollyoaks used to make episodes available on the app even when they weren’t on that day.”

Another fan commented: “I love the women’s football, but surely Corrie could either air later or just be made available on demand?”

A third added: “There’s no reason to pause the soaps. If ITV needs to air the Women’s Football, why not move Corrie to ITV2 at its regular time and show it later on ITV?”
