“Coronation Street Fans Shocked by Mick Michaelis Actor Joe Layton’s Real Accent”

“Joe Layton, who has been portraying Mick Michaelis on Coronation Street for the past few months, surprised fans when they heard what his real voice actually sounds like.”

Coronation Street viewers were gobsmacked to hear Mick Michaelis actor Joe Layton’s genuine accent.

Joe burst onto the scene earlier this year as the menacing Mick, who turned up in Weatherfield with his wife Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty). Labelled as “nightmare neighbours,” the duo quickly stirred up trouble on the street.

Not only did they get under the skin of locals like Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) and Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), but last month, Mick revealed his vicious streak by savagely attacking Sean Tully (Anthony Cotton).

The beating ensued after Mick discovered Sean had grassed up his lad Brody (Ryan Mulvey) for bullying Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) at STC.

More recently, it’s come to light that Mick has a dodgy past with crooked cop Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), with both blokes evidently concealing a hefty secret, reports Belfast Live.

However, last week’s flashback episode to 2007 peeled back layers of their relationship, exposing that Kit was guilty of a crime during their teen years – and Mick took the fall for him.

Moreover, despite only landing on the cobbles a few months back, it’s been announced that both Lou and Mick will be departing this summer following a dramatic plot twist.

Before joining the Corrie cast, Joe Layton was already a familiar face on telly, having starred in shows such as Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D, Young Wallander, and the BBC drama Thirteen with Jodie Comer.

Fans have recently been left gobsmacked after hearing Joe’s actual voice for the first time

However, away from the soap, fans have recently been left gobsmacked after hearing Joe’s actual voice for the first time.

Responding to a video of Joe on Coronation Street’s TikTok page, one individual commented: “That’s a shock hearing Mick’s real accent”.

A second person concurred: “I was in shock too!” A third joined in, exclaiming: “I’m more surprised by Mick’s real-life voice and accent ! how very well spoken.”

Echoing these sentiments, another fan noted: “Mick sounds so different out of character..”
