It was later revealed to viewers that Gary was in a coma, admitted as an unidentified patient after suffering a violent assault on the night of Aadi’s party. Although Nina witnessed the incident, she was under the influence of LSD and couldn’t recall who the victim was.

During the episode that aired on Wednesday, July 2, Gary’s condition deteriorated, prompting the nurse to reach out to his listed ‘next of kin.’

On Liam’s birthday, Gary’s absence raised more concern. When Maria called Anna, she learned that Gary had been staying with her for a few days but had left to return home—and never arrived.

Elsewhere, Lou Michaelis was seen taking a mysterious phone call and behaving suspiciously. Could she possibly be the ‘next of kin’ the hospital tried to contact?

After Lou was seen taking a shady phone call—and considering her previous attempt to kiss Gary followed by blackmail—viewers are now convinced she’s the one who put him in the hospital.

It even looked like she had Gary’s phone, possibly in an attempt to cover her tracks.

One Corrie fan posted on X: “So Lou is pretending to be Gary’s next of kin??”

Another added: “Lou has Gary’s phone and is acting like she’s his next of kin. She’s definitely hiding something about the attack.”
