EastEnders actress Jo Joyner debuted a brand new look on Wednesday’s installment of This Morning
Actress Jo Joyner unveiled a striking new hairstyle during her appearance on Wednesday’s episode of This Morning, amid speculation about a potential return to EastEnders.
The 47-year-old, best known for her signature blonde curls, surprised viewers by showing off darker brunette hair while promoting her new thriller, Little Disasters, on ITV’s This Morning (May 21).
While discussing the Paramount Plus series, Jo spoke with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, who explored her role as NHS doctor Liz.
The new drama revolves around a tight-knit group of new mothers who are rocked when one of them is accused of harming her baby, testing their friendship and pushing their families to the brink of collapse.
In the show, Jo’s character sports dark brown hair, a stark contrast from her iconic blonde look that she’s known for, reports Belfast Live. This comes alongside ongoing rumours about Jo’s potential return to EastEnders. The actress previously portrayed Tanya Branning on the BBC soap and was last spotted in Albert Square in 2018.
These rumours have been fuelled by the BBC One drama’s recent trend of bringing back major characters to celebrate its 40th anniversary this past February, hinting at more surprising twists to come.
Adding to this, Kate Oates, the Head of Continuing Drama, has hinted at the rumours, suggesting that a familiar face might pop up in Walford soon.

At this year’s BAFTAs, while soaking up the winner’s press conference limelight, she teased: “If you like a return, I don’t think you’re going to be disappointed, because there’s potentially one on the cards.”
She hinted at juicy upcoming plots, as RadioTimes reported: “There are some really big stories coming up and if it’s a return you’re after, then you might be interested in what’s on the horizon.”
Given these titbits, die-hard EastEnders fans are buzzing with speculation that Tanya could be the long-awaited face poised for a dramatic comeback amidst escalating drama involving her daughter Lauren Branning, whom she shares with her ex, Max.
The introduction of her new grandchild, Jimmy Beale, might just pave the way for Tanya’s much-anticipated return to Albert Square.
Yet, during her chat on This Morning, Jo steered clear of any Walford whispers, instead delving into her thrilling new project, Little Disasters.

Discussing the show and its ensemble, she revealed: “When I first read the script, one of my favourite scenes was when they first meet in a flashback at NCT class and she asks for birthing plans.”
She added, reflecting on the diverse characters: “And they go around the group and everyone’s birthing plans is so different and I thought what a brilliant way to introduce different characters.”
