“Coronation Street’s Ben Price, known for playing Nick Tilsley, is tackling some redecorating after an unexpected mishap at home.”

Ben Price, a beloved Coronation Street star best known for portraying Nick Tilsley, recently experienced an unexpected incident at home. He shared the mishap on an episode of the “On The Sofa” podcast, which he co-hosts with co-stars Jack P Shepherd (David Platt) and Colson Smith (Craig Tinker).
Ben described how the situation unfolded after he discovered a dead mouse while cleaning beneath his oven—an encounter that led him to investigate further in the attic.
“I went up into the loft to check for signs of mice. I walked across one side of the roof and was on my way back,” he explained. But things took a turn when he lost his balance: “As I was coming back, I tripped. I thought I stepped on a wooden beam, but I missed and ended up putting my foot straight through the ceiling.”
After the accident, his bathroom was left in chaos, covered in debris. “Every part—the shower, the toilet, the tiles, the floor—was completely covered,” he said. In a moment of panic, he called out to his wife, shouting: “You just need to know something! I’ve put my foot through the ceiling.” He quickly got to work cleaning up the mess, though the timing clashed with repair work already underway on their oven, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Ben shared that the mishap has now prompted his wife to propose completely renovating the bathroom.
Ben has become a fan favourite on Coronation Street, having first appeared on the famous Cobbles in 2009 as Nick Tilsley. Since then, he has played a central role in many of the soap’s major storylines.
On screen, he was caught up in a dramatic love triangle involving his character’s partner, Leanne Battersby, and her sister, Toyah.
Away from the spotlight, Ben leads a more peaceful life. He is happily married to actress Alexandra Wheeler, whom he met while working on the stage production On The Razzle. Together, they’ve built a family and are proud parents to two children.
Family has always been Ben’s main priority, which was clear when he temporarily stepped away from Coronation Street in 2017 to focus on spending more time with his loved ones.
In an emotional interview on This Morning, he shared: “I’m leaving for my family. The experience has been incredible—I’ve loved being on the show, working with amazing people, and being part of such powerful storylines. It couldn’t have been better.”
He added, “I live 200 miles away and only see my wife and kids on Saturdays before heading back on Sunday. It wasn’t an easy choice, but ultimately, it came down to family—I really miss them.”
