Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter is said to be engaged to a convicted drug trafficker who was involved in supplying equipment for a large-scale amphetamine lab. The 48-year-old star, best known for playing Chas Dingle on the ITV soap, was reportedly seen visiting her “fiancé,” 54-year-old Elliott Walker, at HMP Hollesley Bay in Suffolk.
Walker, from Kidbrooke in south-east London, received a six-year prison sentence in December 2021 for his part in setting up what’s believed to be the UK’s largest amphetamine production facility in Warwickshire.
The drug lab, operated by gang leader John Keet, had the capacity to produce 400 kilograms of amphetamine per month — with a street value estimated at £10 million. According to The Sun on Sunday, Walker has been openly telling fellow prisoners about his fiancée, especially after she was recognised during one of her visits.
An insider told the outlet: “Her relationship has become a hot topic in the prison, especially after some visitors recognised Lucy the other day – she’s been a familiar face on Emmerdale for years. And Elliott hasn’t kept quiet about it either; he’s proudly told fellow inmates that she’s his fiancée.”
A photograph reportedly showing Lucy outside the Category D open prison surfaced last week, said to have been taken during a visit to her partner. The exact timeline of when her relationship with Walker began remains unclear, though he is believed to be approaching his release date.
Back in 2022, Lucy revealed she was seeing someone new during an episode of The Heal is Real podcast.
The soap star, who has portrayed Chas Dingle since 2002, shared: “I’m in a new relationship now. Exclusive. Don’t say anything.”
Speculation that Lucy had taken the relationship to the next level began circulating in July last year, after she was seen wearing a large diamond ring on her wedding finger.
Lucy ended her long-term relationship with Rudi Coleano in 2019. The former couple share a daughter, Lola, born in 2005, and later welcomed twin girls, Betsy and Missy, in 2017 following a lengthy IVF journey.
The I’m A Celebrity contestant once revealed they nearly tied the knot in 2012 but ultimately chose not to go through with it.
“We were in Dubai about a month ago and thought, ‘Why not do it while we’re here?’ But then I figured all our friends would be like, ‘Oh great, thanks for not inviting us’,” she previously told The Sun.
In 2019, a representative for Lucy told Digital Spy: “Lucy Pargeter has confirmed her separation from long-term partner Rudi Coleano. Although they are no longer together, their focus remains on co-parenting their three daughters.”
