EastEnders actress Clair Norris shared a heartfelt message on social media, honouring her on-screen family following the departure of her character Bernie Taylor, who exited the BBC soap alongside best friend Felix Baker.

EastEnders actress Clair Norris has shared a heartfelt farewell to her on-screen family on social media, describing it as ‘the end of an era.’ Clair first appeared on the soap in 2017 as part of the Taylor family, with her character Bernie soon becoming a beloved fan favourite on the BBC show.
However, Bernie experienced plenty of challenges during her time in Albert Square, including the heartbreaking death of her half-sister Chantelle, who was killed by Gray Atkins in 2020, and her mother Karen’s departure from Walford in 2023.
Bernie’s life was dealt another devastating blow when Keanu was murdered on Christmas Day 2023 — a moment that had been foreshadowed in a tense flashforward scene. His fatal stabbing by Linda Carter on the day of his wedding launched the intense and suspenseful ‘The Six’ storyline.

After learning the truth about her brother’s death, Bernie chose not to seek revenge, deciding instead to stop more lives from being destroyed, according to the Manchester Evening News.
After a short time away from the spotlight, it was uncovered that Bernie had been stealing thousands of pounds from the Panesar family. In a dramatic turn, she persuaded The Six to let her escape by taxi, fleeing to Spain with her best friend Felix Baker to begin a new chapter on Tuesday (July 1).
With the Taylor family now having left EastEnders, Clair took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message alongside photos with her TV family from over the years. She captioned the emotional tribute:
“The end of an era last night. My on-screen family, I love you ALL!!
From day one, I’ve been fortunate to work with and learn from the very best, supported by the kindest people! I truly struck gold with this group!!!
Thank you @bbceastenders for having me and @daranlittle for stirring up the drama… The Taylors.”
Clair’s post prompted a flood of supportive messages from her EastEnders co-stars and fans, who quickly took to the comments to celebrate her journey on the show.
Ricky Champ, known for his role as Stuart Highway, commented: “Congratulations Clair… you absolutely nailed it. You should be really proud.”
Maisie Smith, who played Tiffany Fowler, joined in saying: “Berniff 4 lyf.”
Ashley Byam, who portrays Finlay Baker, wrote: “Love ya cuz!!!” Stevie Basaula, known as Isaac Baptiste, added: “Big love Clair.”
Meanwhile, one fan commented: “Enders won’t be the same without the Taylors, especially Bernie, but I’m REALLY excited to see what’s next for you!” Another fan said: “I absolutely loved the Taylors and Bakers. Wishing you all the best.”
