EastEnders seems to be setting the stage for Zoe Slater’s full-time comeback, as her stepdad Alfie Moon has secretly flown to Barcelona to visit her, deceiving his new wife Kat in the process.

EastEnders’ Alfie Moon has left his new wife Kat livid.
The couple recently got married, but it seems their relationship is already facing trouble. In upcoming scenes, Kat becomes enraged after discovering that Alfie has been dishonest about where he’s been.
It appears the BBC soap is preparing for Zoe Slater’s full-time return. Actress Michelle Ryan has come back to the show after nearly twenty years, and it seems fans will be seeing her on screen again soon.
Just days after marrying Kat for the third time, Alfie claimed he was flying to Australia to visit Spencer. But viewers know the truth — he’s actually gone to Barcelona to track down his stepdaughter Zoe, Kat’s daughter, who recently fled Stacey’s London flat after a tense encounter with her mother.

Zoe’s return could be happening sooner than expected as Alfie searches for her. Meanwhile, Kat is starting to get suspicious after admitting she hasn’t heard from Alfie, and noticing Spencer acting oddly during a recent phone call.
Next week’s spoilers reveal that Alfie’s lie about going to Australia will be exposed, according to the Mirror. Stacey Slater makes her return, but tension rises as it’s clear she’s keeping secrets.
After being questioned, Stacey attempts to hide the truth by saying she’s missing Lily. Meanwhile, Kat grows more frustrated as she can’t reach Alfie and vents her feelings to a nervous Stacey.
Stacey insists she hasn’t spoken to Alfie, but Jean unintentionally reveals that Stacey did talk to him on the phone earlier that morning. Furious, Kat calls her brother-in-law Spencer once again, demanding answers.

It soon becomes clear that Alfie never went to Australia. Kat sets out to confront Stacey about the big lie — but will she uncover the truth?
Earlier this month, Michelle Ryan surprised EastEnders fans by making a shock comeback as Zoe Slater, nearly twenty years after her last appearance on Albert Square. Michelle appeared in two episodes at Stacey’s flat before leaving for Barcelona — but this won’t be the last time we see her.
Zoe is set to make a full-time comeback to the soap in scenes scheduled for later this summer. Fans following Michelle’s Instagram stories will have seen that she’s already back on set and filming.
Since soaps typically film 6-8 weeks ahead, we can expect Zoe to appear on screen around late summer.
Details about Zoe’s return remain under wraps, but it’s likely she’ll cross paths with her mother, Kat Slater. Zoe’s comeback coincided with new executive producer Ben Wadey’s first episode in charge, and he has hinted at exciting storylines ahead for the character.
He commented on Zoe’s return: “Even before I took on the role, Zoe Slater was high on my list of characters I wanted to bring back. Although she hasn’t appeared on screen for twenty years, her storylines have kept her character relevant over time.
“I was overjoyed when Michelle agreed to come back, and I’m excited to welcome her back to Walford. While I can’t reveal too much right now, Zoe’s return is just one of many thrilling storylines we have in store.”
