Coronation Street fans are certain they’ve figured out which cast member will be the next to depart the cobbles.

Coronation Street viewers are feeling disheartened as they believe they’ve figured out which beloved character will be the next to go.
The ITV soap has recently undergone a major cast reshuffle. Executive producer Kate Brooks revealed last year that multiple characters would be written out — news that left fans gutted.
And 2025 has already seen several notable departures — including Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King), who left for a new beginning in London; Max Turner (Paddy Bever), who was sentenced to six years in prison; and Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), who tragically met his end after 14 years on the show.
Meanwhile, long-time favourite Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) also said her goodbyes to Weatherfield after 25 years, heading off to start a new life in sunny Thailand.

However, more changes are still to come. In May, it was reported by Leicestershire Live that Daniel Brocklebank, who has played Billy Mayhew since 2014, had been axed from the show.
Now, fans believe they’ve spotted who might be next to leave – and things aren’t looking promising for Carla Connor (Alison King). On a Coronation Street Facebook fan group, viewers are speculating that Carla’s nephew, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), could be the next to go.

One fan shared their opinion: “Not gonna lie, I wouldn’t be shocked if Ryan ends up leaving. He doesn’t have a storyline right now, even though there’s so much potential for his character. They just don’t seem to be using him.”
Another fan agreed: “I was thinking the same — he’s just kind of lingering in the background, and it doesn’t add up.”
A third viewer added: “I really hope that’s not the case, he deserves more screen time.” Someone else commented: “You’re probably spot on.”

Ryan was first introduced to the soap in 2006, originally played by Ben Thompson. He left in 2010 but returned for a short run in 2012 that lasted a year.
In 2018, Ryan made his return to the cobbles and has remained a regular fixture ever since.
Over the years, he’s been at the centre of some major storylines — from battling steroid addiction to surviving a devastating acid attack, his journey in Weatherfield has been filled with intense drama.
